Word (About Azim Souyun’s poetry)

Exactness, simplicity, conciseness and wisdom are corona and merit of both folklore and eastern poetry.
It is not easy to develop permanent and everlasting literary traditions through renewal. There are some reasons why many authors remained under the high and great rock named classical literature:
“Hey friend”, a book by well known poet Azim Souyun is attractive with its new form and new style.
Some authors were first to write ghazals, rubai (quatrain) or qit’a, impromptu or mansura. Later these genres developed into a separate literary genre.
Azim Souyun was the first to write qayirma (windings – A.A) in contemporary Uzbek literature. The word “qayirma” means a mature and ripe deed, action, craft and work. This beautiful word-notion again got back to language use. Besides, poet presents a qayirma (winding) to literary community as a new and separate genre. It is not a shaping; instead, it is a style resulted from logic and method requirements and there is no artificiality or constraint in it!
Each qayirma (winding) begins with “Hey friend!” This unifies them from composition extent. From this point of view, every qayirma is separate and at the same time, they are connected with each other as a common system.
“Hey fiend” – it is a True Friend, “Hey friend” – it is the World, it is the Creator, “Hey friend” – it is Love, it is Anxiety, it is Parting: It is History, Today and Future:
In ancient works one may see the same address to world and living creatures, as an address to contemporary, to Friend. Qayirma (winding) is clear and concise, therefore they ring like scripts engraved on ancient stones.
Layers of meaning of words, their warmth and sort vary, get renewed and endlessly improve. The secret why Rumi, Bedil or Khayyam’s masnaviys, rubais and ghazals are everlasting is explained with the fact that they have national and common spiritual unity and powerful national and eastern philosophy. Taking into consideration originality of “Hey friend” we may tell that qayirmas (windings) are fruits of Azim Souyun’s philosophy. It signifies poet’s mediation that known and unknown philosophy in people’s heart and mouth is developed and given through windings.
No doubt that “Hey friend” will have a special place in literature as a modern synthesis of national philosophy and literary reflection.
