Khurshid Davron, national poet of Uzbekistan

Farewell

Please let me leave you,

But not like the rain –

The rain will come again.

And not like the wind,

It’ll come back to find.

I’d like to leave you

Like amour.

I am in love…

A woman whispers: I am in love,

Let me wash your cloths

And iron your shirts

With my hands that embraced you.

One day I wish I could nuzzle

With you and whisper smiling:

“There is someone in my heart

Breathing like you, my darling…”
