A poem by Abduvali Qutbiddin

Oseema

I feel alone, in longing for you,
My dawn in yellow, my day askew.
The sun ascends with a mournful cry,
The moon arises, disgorging the sky,
Oseema —

Whose daughter are you?!
I wrap in a blanket, it flutters and flies,
I cling to a pillow, where my sorrow lies.
Thoughts escape me, the house confines,
A nightmare – a specter that forever twines.

Every step sends shivers through my core,
An unfamiliar road, I would explore.
I climb a rock, it crumbles in despair,
My curse sounds like a fervent prayer.

I scream and wail in the silent night,
Loneliness echoes, an eerie plight.
My shame harbors a peculiar grudge,
Why are others joyous, proud, and judge?
Aren’t we human, with hearts that bleed?
Could you answer in this time of need –
Oseema?!
