Award-loving country

Here
Everybody wants to get an award
Many nominate themselves for it,
Everyone seeks for recognition.
The government plays a lovely game
Especially with poets and writers
And offers an ice-cream in the form of an award –
A paper, a name with capital letters and a seal
And of course a beautiful signature –
In exchange for Truth.
A few volunteers can erect a monument
On a truthful poet’s grave –
Luckily they don’t need
a presidential resolution for it.
This is an award-loving country –
Everybody wants to get an award.
It comes to nobody’s mind
Or no one will dare to ask:
For What?
