I am ready to enter 2026!
International engagement has become a necessity for any modern creator, and 2025 was a year in which I strengthened these global ties. I began the year with a journey to the Cairo International Book Fair, participating in poetry readings, literary gatherings, and cultural exchanges that broadened and deepened my creative vision.
In April, I welcomed fifteen foreign friends to Uzbekistan as part of my long-running writer and artist residency program. Together, we reached more than 1,000 schoolchildren, students, emerging and established poets, writers, and translators. Our sessions across six regions of the country sparked joy, curiosity, and inspiration in every audience. I hope to continue this residency in the years ahead, though its future depends on stable and meaningful funding that can support sustainable growth.
This year, I translated six books — five of which were published. I travelled to eight countries, expanded my professional network, and strengthened friendships that continue to shape my understanding of world cultures and literature. Through my Telegram channel, I shared dozens of international publishing calls, residency programs, and learning opportunities for Uzbek writers, artists, and translators.
At the start of the year, I also resigned from my position at the Public Diplomacy Section and transitioned into full-time freelancing — a step that opened new creative and professional paths. As a freelancer, I translated and interpreted for several international organizations, including the United Nations, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Embassy, the Goethe-Institut, and the FAO.
On a personal note, one of the happiest moments of 2025 was marrying off my son, a milestone that filled our family with joy and gratitude.
As I look toward 2026, I carry the same determination, openness, and belief in cultural connection that guided me throughout this year. I am ready for international collaborations — whether within global literary or cultural organizations or through translation partnerships with writers’ associations around the world. I hope to expand my residencies, publish new translations, build new cross-continental collaborations, and continue opening international doors for Uzbek creators.
Thank you to everyone who stayed close and supported me in 2025! I carry your kindness into 2026.
